Chiropractic adjustments
Dr Jia Lumā is highly trained in the skill of adjusting. She has over 7 years experience delivering highly specific high velocity low amplitude forces to achieve improved joint range of motion.
Cupping
Cupping therapy is a traditional treatment used to help relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and support the bodyās natural healing processes. It involves placing special cups on the skin to create gentle suction. This suction lifts the skin and underlying tissue, increasing blood flow to the area and encouraging the release of tight or restricted muscles.
Webster Technique
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic approach designed to assess and address joint dysfunction and tension around the pelvis during pregnancy. It uses gentle chiropractic adjustments alongside soft tissue techniques to support pelvic movement, comfort and function as the body changes throughout pregnancy.
The technique focuses on the relationship between the pelvis, surrounding muscles and ligaments, with care tailored to each stage of pregnancy and the individual needs of the patient. It is commonly used by pregnant women experiencing pelvic, lower back, hip or sacroiliac discomfort, or those simply looking for a gentle approach to chiropractic care throughout pregnancy.
The Webster Techniques focus is on the motherās musculoskeletal function and pelvic biomechanics.
Exercise and rehab
Exercise and rehabilitation focus on restoring strength, mobility, and control to support long term recovery and injury prevention. Targeted exercises are prescribed to address muscle imbalances, improve posture, and enhance joint stability. Rehab plays a key role in reducing pain, improving function, and preventing recurrence by teaching the body how to move correctly. When guided by a professional, exercise based rehab supports lasting results and helps patients return to daily activities with confidence.
Schroth Method
The Schroth Method is a specialised, exercise-based approach designed specifically for people with scoliosis. It uses tailored exercises, postural correction and specific breathing techniques to address the three-dimensional changes that occur in the spine with scoliosis.
Each program is adapted to the individualās unique spinal curve and focuses on improving posture, muscular balance, spinal control and movement patterns. The exercises also aim to build greater body awareness, helping people better understand and manage their posture during everyday activities.
The Schroth Method can be used with both adolescents and adults and may form part of a broader scoliosis management plan. Dr Jia has completed advanced training in the Schroth Method and incorporates its principles into care where appropriate.
Drop piece
The chiropractic drop piece technique, uses a specialized adjustable table with segmented sections that drop slightly during spinal adjustments. This gentle, low-force approach allows chiropractors to improve mobility vertebrae with minimal pressure and increased comfort. The dropping motion assists the adjustment, making it ideal for patients seeking pain relief from back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and joint dysfunction. This precise technique promotes spinal health, improved mobility, and nervous system optimization for overall wellness.
Kinesio and sports taping
Kinesio and sports taping involves applying specialized elastic therapeutic tape to muscles, joints, and ligaments to support injury recovery and enhance athletic performance. This flexible tape lifts the skin, improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation, and alleviating pain while maintaining full range of motion. Commonly used for sports injuries, muscle strains, shoulder pain, knee pain, and postural support, kinesiology taping provides drug-free pain relief and accelerates healing. Athletes and active individuals benefit from improved stability, reduced muscle fatigue, and enhanced recovery during rehabilitation and training.
Activator
The Activator technique uses a specialized handheld instrument to deliver precise, low-force chiropractic adjustments to the spine and joints. This gentle, controlled method provides targeted spinal manipulation without twisting or cracking, making it ideal for patients seeking comfortable treatment. The Activator tool delivers quick impulses that restore proper joint function, relieve back pain, neck pain, headaches, and improve nervous system communication. This evidence-based technique suits all ages, from children to seniors, offering safe, effective pain relief and improved spinal mobility for optimal wellness.

Do I need to be ācrackedā?
No. Chiropractic care is never one size fits all, and you do not have to receive any technique you are uncomfortable with. Gentle techniques, including the use of an Activator instrument, are commonly used for those who prefer a low force approach. At The Wellness Mecca, techniques are recommended based on your needs, comfort and goals, with a focus on supporting movement and nervous system function rather than forcing adjustments.
